Haikus on the cocktail, Autumn mist*

Yesterday’s haiku,

Was written for tomorrow,

But posted today.


Teetotaller I,

Force fed cocktail Autumn Mist*,

Slept blissfully sound.

*The Autumn Mist is a hot Drink and contains 4 ounces of boiling water, two ounces of Grand Marnier, all poured one after another into a large brandy snifter, followed by a circling of the rim with a twist of lemon eventually dropped into the abyss of that bottomless snifter with a tea bag.

Clutter* and tea

Things, there are but many things,

If only they could be snapped* away

Into grooves, crannies and crevices,

It would so undoubtedly make my day.


It’s an afternoon for flippant rhyme,

But then, why do I have to apologize?

Like I do for almost everything

And the clutter I wish to downsize.


So I mull over the feng shui of my study,

Place all pictures rightly as compass see

Ah well, such an enormous bother,

Let me just go have some tea.


*Mary Poppins, the magical Nanny, snapped all clutter away. Although, she held that, “in every job that must be done, there is an element of fun, you find the fun and snap, the job’s a game, and every task you undertake becomes a piece of cake…….”, it is a huge task managing clutter. Well, I even find yesterday’s newspaper clutter, so…….
